We are lucky enough to live in a fantastic neighborhood in London. It even has it's own oasis in the form of a large garden/park for the square!
Out in the square is a large grassy area for dogs, and kids and picnic-ers alike to enjoy. In the far right corner from our entrance, there is a swing set and a sand box. JJ is a bit young for the sandbox, but we gave the swings a whirl and she LOVED it!
Juliette did her first laugh the other day! She has been silent laughing for awhile now, but the other day she made a squeak sound when she laughed! Each day it gets closer to a real laugh, but I actually got a little video on the day she started laughing! It's a bit longer than necessary and I need to learn to turn the camera sideways to fill the screen, but here it is!
Andrew and I also snapped some cutie pics last night just for fun. She has such a wide array of faces - it's precious!
Wow!! When you put all the pictures side by side, it's amazing to see how much she's changed over 3 months! She's such a little chunker now and I love love love it!
Today is supposed to be the last beautiful day for awhile (in comes the rain tomorrow) and we tried to go to the driving range so Andrew could hit a few golf balls.
The closest range is in Chiswick so we took the tube to Hammersmith and then waited for the 190 bus to take us to the range. Unfortunately, the 190 bus took over 20 minutes to come, and then we took it the wrong way and then I realised we were 25 minutes from nap time, so I exercised my mom power and Jules and I headed home while Andrew went to hit some balls. It was a solid effort, we just didn't time it amazingly... Perhaps we will spend some time in the garden later instead! It's actually a chilly fall day today and really nice. Regardless of the failed trip, I have very few me/Juliette pictures so I had Andrew snap a few. It's been such a great 3 months. I can't wait to see what the next bring as we tackle Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas - all firsts for my baby girl!
Not quite back to normal, but I'm very close! Woo hoo!
My
baby is 3 months! It's crazy to see how much she's changed. I even
squeezed her into the 0-3 onesie we used for the 1 and 2 month shoots.
When you see the pictures side by side, you really see how much she's
changed!
The
poor thing also had her second set of immunisations today. She was due
two weeks ago, but I am an awful mother and thought the next set was due
16 weeks when in reality there was a 12 week set in there too. Oops!
She
was a trooper like always. The 5 in 1 seemed to hurt her a bit more
than the Meningitis one. She took a nice two and a half hour nap
afterwards to ease her trauma.
But she weighs 13 and a half pounds (50th percentile) and is 64 centimeters long (98 percentile). That's our little super model!
We
did a little photo shoot afterwards and then the poor baby was super
fussy the rest of the day. I think her legs really hurt her and she
needed a "being held" day because nothing was making her happy out of my
arms. I secretly liked it :)
Ever
since we got back from Luxembourg, her nap routine has been completely
off. She needs a nap after every two hours of being awake, but will nap
between 30 minutes and an hour. No more. I REALLY miss that long
afternoon nap because without naps, mommy can't get anything done!
Beggers can't be choosers I guess because baby girl goes down at 9 pm
and sleeps until 5 pretty consistently and then 5:30 until 8 or 8:30.
I'm VERY happy with that. I am also a bad mom and let her sleep on her
tummy now right from the start. It's not recommended, but she sleeps so
well. I just have to trust that she is a healthy baby and all will be
fine.
Juliette
is getting so interactive. She likes to "talk" to me all the time and
to get my attention. She is using her hands really well - reaches for
and most times can grasp exactly what she wants. It's truly amazing. She
hasn't started to roll yet, but I think she's getting close. She got
her hips on the floor (rolling from her back) but then couldn't figure
out the arms bit.
We
also have started going to the gym in September. Virgin Active Fulham
Pools has a lovely creche and after 3 visits, I finally felt comfortable
leaving Juliette there. The people are really nice and I feel like she
is in good hands. She's been 4 times already!
Monday
we have a reunion with our NCT friends to look forward to. Each day, I
love more and more being a mother. It's absolutely fantastic - what a
gift!
Juliette and I are getting more adventurous these days. I have not seen my work friends since I was super preggers so I decided to meet them for lunch last Friday in the Sony Canteen.
We took the number 10 bus from Kensington High Street to Oxford Circus because the tubs around the Soho area do not have lifts for the pram. I really don't understand how that's possible because that would mean they are not handicap accessible either. Any hoo, the bus took about 45 minutes and then we ran into pretty much every person I knew at Sony!
It was so nice to see everyone and introduce them to little Juliette. It made me realise that I really missed everyone!
We had lunch with Stuart, Shikha and Ahmed. Jules took turns saying hi to everyone and making new friends.
I really enjoyed talking to adults again! I kept being asked when I was coming back... I wasn't sure how to answer that since I don't know what I'll be doing any time soon! It all depends on Andrew and what his next move is :)
My NCT friend Tanaz turned me onto the site Mums and me, which is pretty much Groupon for Mommies! The first and only deal I've bought so far was a photoshoot done by the photographers at ImageThirst which included the shoot and one print image for 39 pounds. Not too shabby when you see what they normally go for!
The shoot was on September first and the photographer came to our house. It was a lot of fun! The photo viewing was yesterday and here are the images we ended up with (minus the family pic to be revealed at a later date lol):
Juliette took her first plane ride on Thursday September 6th to see Auntie Jill on her wedding day!
We flew BA from Heathrow to Luxembourg which is an hour flight. I had read that it's good if the baby is sucking (aka feeding) on take off and descent to help with their ears, but it's actually quite difficult to time that! Lucky for us, we had no issues with her ears and she did fabulously overall! The Flight Attendants were super impressed with her and kept stopping by to say hello!
Jill looked beautiful and her reception was lovely! Juliette even got to meet Tour de France racers Frank and Andy Schlek since Andy is the best man :)
The rest of the weekend, we spent a lot of quality time with Bon papa and Dea and I let Juliette sleep on her tummy for the first time all night. The result? She slept 8 hours each night we were there for her first stretch! Mommy was VERY happy!
Now that we are back in London, Juliette is having a few problems settling back into her schedule, but let's hope that long sleeping nights will stay!
